Gathering Testimonials from Florida Film, TV and Digital Media Crew & Support Businesses
Dear Florida Branch Members,
Just as you heard at our Membership Meeting on October 5, now is the time when your voice as a professional performer can make a difference as we fight to win back jobs for Florida SAG Members.
Please see the following message from the Florida Film Production Coalition. If you have a story to share, please respond by October 31, 2009 to: ffpcoalition@aol.com
Thank you for your help. Read on:
Dear Friends & Colleagues,
You are receiving this email because I have either worked with you at some point in time on a film, TV, commercial/video or still project…or you are someone I have recently met at a film, TV and digital media event and you gave me your card. Either way, I would like to take the opportunity to ask you for your help.
The Florida Film Production Coalition (FFPC) is gathering stories from Florida film, TV and digital media professionals who are unemployed, underemployed, currently working out of state or have been forced to move out of state due to a lack of a strong, recurring, competitive Florida film, TV and digital media tax incentive. (For more information about the FFPC, please visit http://www.ffpcoalition.com.)
If you are a member of our industry and have a story to tell...PLEASE send me an email - It does not have to be long. Make sure you include your name, occupation and city (or former city) of residence.
If you own a business that is struggling, laying off employees or has shut down due to the lack of a strong, recurring, competitive Florida film, TV and digital media tax incentive...PLEASE send me your story as well.
Businesses that are ancillary to our industry (i.e. hotels, restaurants, security companies, etc.) - please feel free to tell how the lack of production in our state is affecting your bottom line.
We will compile a book (or more hopefully BOOKS) of these stories to bring with us when we visit State Legislators locally and in Tallahassee.
Please pass this message on to anyone you know who may be affected by this issue...we need your help!
Thanks!
