Meagan Lewis, casting director for “Treme,” requested that we distribute the message below to the local membership. With regard to the information about background work, please keep in mind that we do not have contractual jurisdiction over such work on theatrical and television productions in Louisiana.  Members may render services as a background actor on theatrical and television productions in Louisiana as long as the producer is signed to the applicable Guild contract. I also wanted to address some concerns that have been voiced in the local SAG community - contrary to what you may have heard - the Open Call my office is conducting this Saturday at the Sheraton on Canal Street is for BACKGROUND Casting.
