Your time and talent are needed in Las Vegas’ inner city schools! Las Vegas BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) is looking for volunteers who can spare an hour a week or every other week to read aloud to children in the Las Vegas area. If you like to read and would like to make a difference in the life of a child, please contact Las Vegas BookPALS Coordinator Barbara Bidell at (702) 806-2824 or via e-mail at bbidell@cox.net. A reader workshop is scheduled for Saturday, January 24 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. We would love to see you there!

The Nevada Branch is forming a member organizing committee to launch after the holidays. We need members who work in all areas of contracts who know other members, competitive talent in the non-union work force, employers, agents and managers. The organizing committee will convene in January.
