Overview

Welcome to the New York Division of Screen Actors Guild, home of the most famous urban landscape in the world. New York is such a great location for filming that other cities have often tried to impersonate us, but there is no substitute for the real thing—nor for the talented, diverse and passionate actors who make up the New York SAG Division. New York actors are proud of their reputation as “triple-threat” actors, transitioning easily between film, television and theater. We appear in commercials, industrials and student films, and some of us even dance in the ballet and sing at the opera. Our membership offers as much depth and variety as the city we live in. New York is also one of the most “film-friendly” locations in the country, thanks to the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, and the Governor’s Office of Motion Picture and Television Development. From the glitz of Sex and the City to the grit of Law & Order, New York offers the finest actors in the foreground and the finest city in the background. We hope you’ll visit us some time as a tourist, or even better, as a working SAG actor.
