CONTRACT TERMS
CONTRACT TERMS

A couple of terms you may hear around town

Drop and Pick Up

If, at the time of original engagement, the day performer is given a firm pick-up date which is more than 14 calendar days* after the close of his initial employment, compensation need not be paid for the intervening time.

Day performers on episodic television paid not less than double minimum (excluding major role performers) may be dropped and picked up once in each episode, subject to a firm pick up date being given. All others have a 14 calendar day intervening period.

*This period shall be 10 calendar days for domestic productions of theatrical films and features made primarily for television exhibition.

Favored Nations

Means that you are getting equal contractual treatment to others on the picture -- pay, billing or any other described provision.

A few reminders:

At all auditions, always remember to sign in and out using your membership identification number, not your Social Security Number, to ensure timely payment of overtime.

A principal performer may be entitled to overtime for a first or second audition for a commercial if s/he remains for more than one hour from the call time or arrival time, whichever is later. For a third audition a principal performer is paid $133.75 for up to 2 hours, with additional time paid at $33.45 per 1/2 unit. For a fourth audition, a performer is entitled to $267.50 for up to 4 hours, with additional time paid at $33.45 per 1/2 hour
