WHAT: As part of their ongoing effort to expand job opportunities for performers of color, people with disabilities, women, LGBT performers and seniors, CBS is now accepting submissions for its sixth talent showcase for diverse sketch comedians in January 2011 in Los Angeles. Executive producer and writer Rick Najera (Mad TV, In Living Color) will once again direct this showcase.
You must be available to audition, rehearse and perform in Los Angeles but all are welcome to submit.

The Central Florida Film Festival is pleased to offer local Screen Actors Guild members a day pass for only $10.** The day pass is good for all screenings and panels on September 4, and all screenings, a special screening and award show on September 5.
Due to the overwhelming response for Casting Director Access, Angela Peri has generously offered another Casting Director Access session on Friday, September 10. Boston Casting is currently responsible for local principal casting for the ABC Television show, Body of Proof, which is filming in Rhode Island through December.

Attention Hollywood Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA Members
All paid-up SAG and AFTRA members who appeared in Television Series made prior to July 1974 on shows produced in the 1950s (such as Maverick), 60s (such as Bewitched) and the 70s (such as The Brady Bunch), are invited to an important caucus Wednesday, July 21, 2010 to discuss the New Media streaming of TV series made prior to July 1974.
Come early and bring your membership card. Participation is limited only by the fire rules.
Sheridan Whiteside, the cantankerous but talented writer and radio personality, reluctantly accepts a dinner invitation while on a lecture tour in a small town in Ohio. His thought is to eat and run, but he slips on a patch of ice and is forced to change his quick-escape plans. It’s a nightmare for the host family as Whiteside takes over the household with a combination of demands, rudeness, and expensive whims.

Claire Simon, of Claire Simon Casting, is our special guest for a Casting Access event on July 19.

Claire Simon Casting is currently conducting auditions for the Fox Television show, Ride Along, which is filming 12 episodes in Chicago beginning at the end of July. The Ride Along pilot—shot in Chicago in April—was picked up by Fox as a mid-season replacement.

What This Is
An ongoing, cooperative venture for the mutual benefit of Chicago casting professionals, talent agents and AFTRA/SAG members in good standing;
An opportunity for casting professionals and talent agents to hold “generals” and become better acquainted with the wide variety of talent in Chicago’s AFTRA and SAG memberships;
Stunt Performers are invited to attend a special roundtable meeting to discuss the issues facing Stunt Performers today, in preparation for the SAG TV/Theatrical and AFTRA Exhibit A Contract Joint Wages and Working Conditions Committee Meetings. The proposals will be presented to the Joint Wages and Working Conditions Committee. All SAG and AFTRA members who work the SAG TV/Theatrical and AFTRA Exhibit A Contracts (covering Prime Time Dramatic Television shows, Pay TV, made for DVD programs and Feature Films) are invited to attend.
