SAG Nevada Branch has called for the Nevada Branch Semi-Annual Membership Meeting. The Branch Council is most pleased that Ken Howard, President of Screen Actors Guild, has accepted an invitation to address the membership.

This meeting is only active open to Nevada Branch members in good standing so remember to bring your membership card (paid up through April 30, 2010) for admittance. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Actor, director, writer, producer John Milton Branton has seen it all and done it all and in this class he will bring his broad knowledge of and experience in the movie business to the Nevada Conservatory.

Mr. Branton has developed a 10-step plan that prepares the actor to audition successfully for roles in film and television.  This plan is based on solid acting principles from various schools of acting and provides the actor with simple and powerful tools that guarantee stronger and more focused auditions with a proven track record of call-backs and repeat auditions.

SAG members are invited to special discount screenings of documentary “See What I’m Saying: The Deaf Entertainers Documentary”.

The Screen Actors Guild and the University of Hawaii Academy of Creative Media have joined together to provide another great way for SAG members to hone their craft through Table Readings. The readings afford members the opportunity to read new scripts and act in roles in a “cold reading” situation. For screenwriters, it is a chance to hear their work read by professional actors. Additionally, should these scenes at some point go before the camera, actors have another opportunity to do what they love – perform well written material on-camera.
