Overview

Any successful organization starts with a set of guiding principles and processes. For our members and staff, the Constitution and By-Laws is the foremost governing document. Refer to this document for rules, regulations and procedures related to how Screen Actors Guild is governed as well as responsibilities as a SAG member.

This document includes the following essential information:

  • The missions and objectives or our union
  • Rules and regulations of membership
  • Roles and responsibilities of the Board of Directors and the National Executive Committee
  • Nominating and election procedures for individual offices
  • How collective bargaining agreements are ratified
  • How strikes are called
  • How amendments are passed

Division Rules of Procedure

The Screen Actors Guild is organized into three governing divisions, and each division is governed by its own Rules of Procedure. If you have a question about your division’s leadership, how they’re nominated and elected, or what their duties are, check the following documents.
